Hindustan Oil leads rally of oil exploration

MUMBAI: Shares of Hindustan Oil Exploration jumped 16.6 per cent, while that of Cairn India surged 4 per cent as US oil rose 64 cents to $66.67 per barrel on Friday.

Hindustan Oil Exploration rose to Rs 74.90 and was last trading at Rs 71.50 while Cairn touched Rs 132 per share, before tapering off to Rs 126.85 a share.

State-run ONGC also advanced 1.20 per cent to Rs 884 after crude rose to its six-month high. Other offshore oil services firms like Great Offshore surged nearly 8.27 per cent to Rs 638.50, Dolphin Offshore gained 7 per cent to Rs 197 and Garware Offshore increased 2.75 per cent to Rs 185 per share on the BSE. - PTI
