Agri-Business Scientific methods to increase Malda mango yield
Horticulture experts recently visited here to train the mango cultivators for better crop production. Nearly half of the mango trees in Malda district are old and the yield of fruit is declining every year for want of proper care. The district economy is heavily dependent on mango cultivation with annual turnover of more than Rs 200 crore. Mangoes are grown in 25,900 hectares spread over 15 blocks in the district. Eight of these blocks have been identified as 'Mango-rich', with maximum yield being reported from Englishbazar block. - PTI
