Zinc futures fall

NEW DELHI: Zinc futures prices fell by 0.58 per cent in futures trading on Thursday as traders engaged in reducing their positions at higher levels.

Zinc for delivery in November contract traded 0.58 per cent down at Rs 103.45 per kg at the MCX platform in a turnover of 541 lots, while December contract shed 0.53 per cent at Rs 104.05 per kg in a business volume of 31 lots.

Weak trend in spot markets due to subdued demand from consuming industries also dampened zinc’s sentiment at the futures market here.

Analysts said profit-booking by speculators after recent gains and weak spot markets trend due to subdued demand from consuming industries mainly put pressure on the zinc prices in futures trade. — PTI
