Most commodity prices rise this week

CHENNAI: Led by moong dal, prices of most of the commodities moved up while the rest remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market during the week under review.

Moong dal settled at Rs 8,500 per quintal on Saturday, a gain of Rs 600 over its close on the same day last week. Urad dal rose by Rs 500 to close at Rs, 8,000.

Sugar closed higher by Rs 300 at Rs 3,300 per quintal over its previous week’s level. Gram dal rose Rs 100 to Rs 3,000 per quintal. Maida (90 kg) edged up by Rs 50 to Rs1,800. Thoor dal, wheat and Sooji remained unaltered. — PTI
