Menthol prices up on fresh buying

NEW DELHI: Menthol prices on Saturday rose Rs 5 per kg each in the national capital on fresh buying by pharma and other consuming units.

Tight stocks position following fall in supplies from producing belts also supported the prices.

Menthol bold crystal, menthol flake and mentha oil prices rose Rs 5 each to Rs 645, Rs 630 and Rs 585 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said fresh buying support from pharma and other consuming industries, mainly attributed to rise in prices.

Following are Saturday’s quotations: Ammonium chloride (50 kg), Rs 1,700-2,500, acetic acid (1 kg) Rs 40, ammonia bicarb (25 kg) Rs 350-400, boric acid technical (50 kg) Rs 4,100-4,400, borex granular (50 kg) Rs 1,800-2,000. Caustic soda flake (50 kg) Rs 1,200-1,300, citric acid (50 kg) (China) Rs 2,300-2,900, citric acid deshi (50 kg) Rs 2,100-2,900, camphor slab (1 kg) Rs 290, camphor powder (1 kg) Rs 270, glycerine (1 kg) Rs 36-46, hexamine (1 kg) Rs 75, hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) Rs 33-35, mercury ( 34.5 kg) Rs 33,000, menthol bold crystal (per kg) Rs 645, menthol flake (1kg) Rs 630 and mentha oil (1 kg) Rs 585. — PTI
