Commodities NEW DELHI: A significant rise in nickel prices was seen on the wholesale non-ferrous metal market on Tuesday on increased buying by stockists following firming trends at London Metal Exchange. Copper also strengthened on industrial demand. Traders said firming trend at London Metal Exchange (LME) where Nickel surged sharply by $1,400 at $43,775-43,800 a tonne mainly buoyed the trading sentiments here. At LME copper also gained $130 at $6260-6265 per tonne. At wholesale market here, nickel plate (4x4), (9x9) and (4x24) were up by Rs 20 each at Rs.2100-2120, Rs.2100 and Rs.2100-2120 a kilo respectively. Copper wire scrap, copper super d rod, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap followed suit and quoted higher by Rs.5 each at Rs.315, Rs.350, Rs.335 and Rs.285 per kilo respectively. Following were today's quotations per kilo in rupees: Tin ingot 610, solder (40 per cent) 222, Nickel plate (4x4) 2100-2120, Nickel (9x9) 2100 Nickel (4x24) 2100-2120, zinc slab 220.00, dross 140, cadmium plate 180, Rod 159-164, antimony (china) 267, gun metal scrap 162, Bell metal scrap 157, copper wire sc rap 315, copper super d rod 350, copper wire bar 335, copper mixed scrap 285, C.C rod 303, Utensil scrap 93, Mixed scrap 330, Chadripital 148, brass sheet cutting 107.50, bullet scrap 97, bharat scrap 208, accessories scrap 209, brass boring 78-80, brass radiator scrap 84 and huny scrap 99.50.
