Commodities Turmeric prices decline on fresh arrival NEW DELHI: Turmeric prices dropped by four per cent in the wholesale kirana market on Tuesday following fresh arrival and less demand. Traders said prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 2,500-4,000 per quintal also on account of weak advices from Hubli turmeric m arket in Maharashtra. Following were today's quotations (in Rs per quintal): Ajwain 5,800-9,000 Black pepper common 14,700-14,800 Betelnut (kg) 95-100, cardamom brown (Jhundiwali)13,500-13,600 and cardamom brown (Kanchicut) 15,500-19,000. Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 340- 415, cardamom (colour robin) 390-400, cardamom bold 415-425, cardamom extra (bold) 460-480 and cloves (kg) 240-265. Chirounji (new) (kg) 160-190 Dry mango 4,300-17,000 Dhania 4,500-7,000 Dry ginger 7,800-10,500 Kalaunji 8,000-8,200 Mace-Red (kg) 445-450 Mace-Yellow (kg) 445-450 Methiseed 3,200-4,000 Makhana (per kg) 130-170 Netmeg 250-260 Poppyseed (KG Turkey) 340 Pop pseed (KG MP-RAJ) 345-380 Poppyseed (KG U.P.) 300-315 Red chillies 2,700-8,000 Soya bari pariwar (20 kg) 350-400 Saffron (kg) Irani 95,000-97,000 Saffron (kg) Kashmiri 10,9000-11,7000 Soanf 4,000-11,500 Turmeric 2,500-4,000 Tamarind 8,50-1,200 Tamarind w ithout seed 2,000-3,500 Tea (kg) 65-120 Watermelon kernel 6,400-6,500 Jeera common 10,800-11,200 Jeera dollar 11,100-11,300. - PTI
