Turmeric prices decline on fresh arrival

NEW DELHI: Turmeric prices dropped by four per cent in the wholesale kirana market on Tuesday following fresh arrival and less demand. Traders said prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 2,500-4,000 per quintal also on account of weak advices from Hubli turmeric m arket in Maharashtra.

Following were today's quotations (in Rs per quintal): Ajwain 5,800-9,000 Black pepper common 14,700-14,800 Betelnut (kg) 95-100, cardamom brown (Jhundiwali)13,500-13,600 and cardamom brown (Kanchicut) 15,500-19,000. Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 340- 415, cardamom (colour robin) 390-400, cardamom bold 415-425, cardamom extra (bold) 460-480 and cloves (kg) 240-265.
