Commodities Sugar falls on selling pressure NEW DELHI: Wholesale sugar prices on Thursday fell by Rs 50 a quintal in the national capital due to reduced offtake amid ample supply. According to sugar merchant Deepak Kumar of Uma Trader, millers were selling sugar frequently as they have to clear ca rry-forward stocks of September. Sugar ready medium and second grade price lost by Rs 50 to settle at Rs 1,900-2,000 and Rs.1890-1975 per quintal, respectively. Mill delivery medium and second grade price also traded lower at Rs.1675-1890 and Rs.1660-1875 from the previous ranges of Rs. 1700-1915 and Rs.1690-1890 per quintal, respectively. In the millgate section, Mawana and dorala quoted lower at Rs.1803 each a quintal on poor offtake. Thanabhawan and Budhana also finished lower at Rs.1,825 each a quintal, respectively. Following were today's quotations in Rs per quintal: Sugar ready M-30 1900-2000 and S-30 1890 -1990. Mill delivery M-30 1675-1890 and S-30 1660-1875. Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Asmoli 1840, Amroha 1685, Bundki 1740, Budhana 1825, Baghpat 1705, Chandpur 1680, Chandanpur 1700, Dhampur 1800, Dorala 1803, Deoband 1810, Dhanora 1815, Gajrola 1685, Jk 1725, Kinonni 1870, Kashipur 1740, Khatauli 1810, Malak Narain 1800, Mawana 1803, Morna 1695, Nanota 1680, Nazibabad 1685, Rani Nangal 1780, Ram ala 1685, Ramlaxaman 1690, Simbholi 1865, Sabitgarh 1800, Samali 1770, Sakoti 1690, Thanabhawan 1825 and Tikola 1810. - PTI
