Chilli, turmeric up

NEW DELHI: Chilli and turmeric prices today increased by Rs 100 each a quintal in the national capital in view of paucity of ready stocks against fall in supplies from producing belts. Increased demand from retailers on account of marriage season also s upported the prices. Chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,800-9,700 and Rs 5,000-6,600 a quintal respectively.

Following were today's quotations (in Rs per quintal): Ajwain 5,500-8,500, black pepper common 13,400-13,500, betelnut (kg) 100-115, cardamom brown (Jhundiwali) 13,800-14,000 and cardamom brown (Kanchicut) 16,000-19,000. Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 480-545, cardamom (colour robin) 550-560, cardamom bold 555-565, cardamom extra (bold) 670-680 and cloves (kg) 250-290. – PTI
