Urad dal prices up

CHENNAI: Prices of urad dal moved up, while moong dal, gram dal and sugar edged down in the wholesale foodgrains market here on Thurdsay.

Urad dal went up by Rs 150 a quintal to Rs 4,600 against the previous rate of Rs 4,450. Both moong dal and gram dal edged down by Rs 50 each a quintal to Rs 4,650 and Rs 3,000 against previous rate of Rs 4,700 and Rs 3,050 respectively.

Sugar shed Rs 10 a quintal to Rs 2,030 from Rs 2,040. Thoor dal, wheat, maida and sooji were traded at their previous rates.

Following are Thursday’s prices (all rates in Rs/quintal): Thoor dal (Rs 4,750), urad dal (Rs 4,600), moong dal (Rs 4,650), gram dal (Rs 3,000), sugar (Rs 2,030), wheat (Rs 1,550), maida (90 kg) Rs 1,480 and sooji (90 kg) Rs 1,600. - PTI
