Commodities Select pulses down NEW DELHI: Select pulses such as arhar, rajma chitra and gram prices drifted in the wholesale pulse market on Tuesday due to reduced offtake by retailers against increased arrival and closed with moderate losses. Marketmen said increased arrival from pr oducing region against selling by stockists mainly pulled down select pulse prices. Fall in vegetable prices too had a negative impact on the prices, they added. Rajma chitra (Pune) and (China) eased to Rs 3200-3850 and Rs 3500-3700 against last closin g of Rs 3250-3900 and Rs 3600- 3800 a quintal on poor offtake by retailers. Rajma red variety quoted lower at Rs 3050-3100 instead of Rs 3100-3200 a quintal. Gram met with stockists selling and traded weak at Rs 2400-2450 from Rs 2440-2470 a quintal. I ts dal (local) and best quality followed suit and receded to Rs 2650-2700 and Rs 2875-3000 against last closing of Rs 2710-2760 and Rs 2950- 3100 a quintal respectively. Arhar Maharashtra and Rangoon were also softened to Rs 2750-21850 and Rs 2650-2700 a quintal respectively on increased arrival. Following were today's quotations (per quintal): Urad Maharashtra 1950-2500, Rangoon 2350-2375 Urad chilka (local) 2700-2800, best 3000-3200, dhoya local 3000-3150, best 3200-3500, Moong Maharashtra 2450-2750, UP\Bihar 2100-2400, Rajasthan 2000-2200, dal moong chilka local 2900-3000, best 3100-3400, moong dhoya local 3000-3200, best quality 3400-3700, masoor small 3100-3150, bold 2800-2950, dal masoor local 3100-3300, best quality 3350-3600, Malka local 3200-3350, best 3400-3600, Moth 1925-1975, Arhar M aharashtra 2750-2850, Rangoon 2650-2700, dal arhar dara 3400-3500 and patka 3600-3800. Gram 2400-2450, gram dal (local) 2650-2700, best quality 2875-3000, besin (35 kg) shakti bhog 1160, rajdhani 1160, Rajmah chitra Pune 3200-3850, China 3500-3700, red 3 050-3100, kabli gram small 2700-3200, dabra 2775-2875, imported 4600-4700, lobia 2500-3000, peas white 1950-2000 and green 1900-1950. - PTI
