Freight rates for select destinations dip

NEW DELHI: Freight rates for ten metric tonnes for select destinations declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following less cargo movement along with easy availability of trucks. Delhi to Kolkata freight rates dipped Rs 1000 to Rs 22,000, while Thiruvananthapuram freights were down to Rs 44,000 from Rs 45,000. Rates to Vijaywada and Guwahati also slipped by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 26,000 and Rs 37,000. Transporters said fall in cargo arrival, triggered by excess position of truck s pulled down some centres' freight rates.

Following are today's freight rates load of per 10 tonnes: Ahmedabad 11,000 Hyderabad 25,000 Mumbai 16,000 Vijaywada 26,000 Baroda 13,000 Chennai 31,000 Pune 18,000 Bangalore 32,000 Surat 14,000 Mysore 34,000 Kanpur 9,500 Pondicherry 34,000 Kolkata 22,000 Coimbatore 36,000 Ludhiana 9,000 Kochi 42,000 Chandigarh 7,500 Thiruvananthapuram 44,000 Jaipur 6,000 Goa 26,000 Indore 12,000 Gwalior 8,000 Patna 17,000 Guwahati 37,000. - PTI
