Logistics New runway inaugurated at Indira Gandhi Intl Airport NEW DELHI: A new runway 11-29, third in line, was inaugurated at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday morning. The first touchdown at the new runway was made by a special flight Air India Boeing 777. The Union Minister for Civil Aviation Mr Praful Patel along with other senior parliamentarians and officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation was present on the occasion. The runway has been developed by Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd, a GMR Group led Joint Venture Consortium mandated to operate and modernise the Indira Gandhi International Airport under the public private partnership initiative of the central govern ment. Mr Kiran Kumar Grandhi, Business Chairman (Airports), GMR Group said, “The company has completed the runway project ahead of its scheduled date of February 2009. We are also on track to complete the Integrated Passenger Terminal (Terminal 3) on schedule as well.” – Our Bureau
