Five Chinese hostages held in Oberoi hotel safe

BEIJING: Five Chinese nationals who were among the others trapped inside the terror struck Oberoi hotel are now safe, state media reported on Friday.

“Five Chinese people who were among the trapped in Oberoi in Mumbai are safe now, Zhang Longhai, an official of the Chinese Consulate-General in Mumbai, told Xinhua.

On Thursday, Chinese Premier, Mr Wen Jiabao in a message to his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh condemned the Mumbai terror attacks and said Beijing is strongly opposed to any form of terrorism.

The death toll in the audacious strikes in ten places across the city has climbed to 127 today. - PTI
