Proposed helipad atop Mukesh Ambani residence gets nod

MUMBAI: The proposed helipad atop 'Seawind', Mukesh Ambani's residence in south Mumbai, has got clearance from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA), a senior official said on Saturday.

“The helipad has been granted clearance by the Authority,” Environment Secretary Valsa Nair Singh said. The Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited had sought permission from the government for the helipad atop the building in posh Cuffe Parade are a.

The government changed the Development Control (DC) regulations last year to permit helipads atop buildings, paving the way for the 'Seawind' helipad plan. Environmentalists had objected to the plan, saying noise pollution would violate provisions of the Environment Protection Act, 1986.
