General Fujifilm to focus on marketing activities; eyes 7% share NEW DELHI: Imaging and photographic firm Fujifilm India on Thursday said it is focussing on strengthening its marketing and sales distribution network as it aims to grab a market share of around seven per cent this year in the Indian digital camera marke t. “This year we will focus on our marketing and advertising activities, besides strengthening our sales distribution network. We plan to have big advertising campaigns to build our brand image and we expect that we could have a market share of 5-7 per cent in India this fiscal,” Fujifilm India Country Manager, Mr A Rajkumar said here. Mr Rajkumar, however, declined to comment on how much the company is planning to invest on it, saying that the company has earmarked a “substantial and appropriate” amount on it. The company, which today launched seven models of digital cameras, currently has three per cent market share in the estimated 10 lakh-units digital camera market. “We aim to reinforce technical and marketing support to existing channel network so as to penetrate deeper into the Indian market,” Fujifilm India Managing Director, Mr Kenichi Tanaka said, without giving further details. The company is looking to expand its distribution network across the country in Class B and Class B which includes Kanpur, Baroda and Lucknow besides the metros, he added. - PTI
