CGHS facility for scribes to be restored: Dasmunsi

NEW DELHI: Medical facilities to journalists under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) will be restored soon, Information and Broadcasting Minister, Mr P R Dasmunsi said on Thursday.

“The proposal will be finalised in a week,'' he said after media persons protested over the delay in restoring the facility provided by the late Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.

Office bearers of the Press Association of India -- an organisation of journalists accredited to the Press Information Bureau (PIB) -- had decided to raise the issue before official briefings on Union Cabinet meetings. – PTI
