Bodhtree joins hands with APTS to create rural jobs

HYDERABAD: IT solutions provider Bodhtree Consulting has joined hands with state-owned Andhra Pradesh Technology Services (APTS) to launch training programmes in rural areas.

The initiative, Happy Village, was launched at Pochampally village in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district by the State IT and Communications Minister, Mr R Damodar Reddy on Saturday.

APTS was planning to roll out 'Happy Village' concept across the State in three phases, covering about 25,000 villages, Mr Reddy said. The training centre at Pochampally has started with 15 rural youth and the number is expected to touch 50 soon.

Under the project, jobs would be provided to educated youth in their villages by setting up units with essential IT infrastructure. The youth would be provided training by BodhTree Consulting to handle data management projects.

"This initiative will not only help penetration of IT in rural villages and create employment opportunities for the rural youth, but also serve the larger goal of bridging the divide between the rural and urban people,'' BodhTree Consulting CEO, Mr Sanje ev Gupta said. - PTI
