Banking & Finance BoB says it is happy with Dravid as brand ambassador MUMBAI: Bank of Baroda (BoB) on Thursday scotched speculation that its brand ambassador, Rahul Dravid, was being replaced, saying it was "happy" with him. "Our association with Dravid has been quite successful and it has immensely benefited us in building-up a brand image in the industry. He (Dravid) is an excellent ambassador and a great personality" said BoB's Executive Director Mr V Santhana Raman. The bank's clarification came amidst reports that BoB was looking at India's one-day cricket captain M S Dhoni to replace Dravid as its brand ambassador. The bank said Dravid had volunteered to continue as the ambassador of the bank till its centenary, which falls this year. The bank would decide on whether to continue with the agreement after August 2008, when the contract with the former Indian cricket captain expires, Mr Santhana Raman said. The bank, however, has not thought about another cricket star or any other celebrity to replace 'The Wall', BoB's other Executive Director Mr Satish C Gupta said. "Reports in the media on this matter are totally speculative and unfounded. I'm surprised to see them," he said. The former captain of the Indian cricket team was appointed as BoB's brand ambassador in May 2005. - PTI
