Corporation Bank goes global

BANGALORE: Karnataka-based Corporation Bank on Thursday announced the opening of its first ever overseas representative office in Dubai. The opening of the office marks the beginning of the bank's international presence, it said in a statement.

“The Bank aims to convert this representative office into a full-fledged branch in course of time. With this, the bank is planning to enlarge its presence in other parts of the Middle East too and cater to the vast NRI segment'', it said. Besides the Mid dle East, the Bank intends to open its offices in China and Europe shortly.

“With a web of representative offices, the bank envisages to have better engagement with NRI community. Ultimately, it intends to offer financial solution required for global presence'', the statement said.

The representative office was inaugurated by Mr Saeed Abdullah Al-Hamiz, from the Central Bank of the UAE. Mr Venu Rajamony, Consul General of India, Indian Consulate, Dubai, the UAE, was the Chief Guest and B Sambamurthy, Chairman & Managing Director of the bank, presided over the inaugural function. - PTI
