Marketing NEW DELHI: Kyndal India Pvt Ltd, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Whyte & Mackay and distribution firm for foreign liquor brands, expects a 500 per cent jump in turnover in 2006 with the launch of about 30 premium liquor brands. "Currently, we are doing a turnover of Rs 5 crore. By next year, we will be launching about 25-30 brands and expect a sales turnover of Rs 25 crore," Mr Siddharth Banerji, Director Kyndal India, told reporters on the sidelines of the launch of Absolut Va nila vodka. The premium vodka market is pegged at 29,000 cases a year and Absolut claims to have 80 per cent market share in this category. The company is looking to launch a premium single malt scotch whisky 'Dalmore' by May this year. "The single malt premium scotch whisky market comprises 12,500 cases and we expect to garner 15-20 per cent of this market with 'Dalmore'," Mr Banerji said. Speaking at the launch, Andrew McDonald, Area Director, Asia Pacific, V&S Absolut Spirits said "The white spirits market in India is growing at a rate of 20-30 per cent which shows that vodka drinking is slowly coming of age in metropolitan India." - PTI
