Piramal Life June quarter net loss at Rs 28 crore

MUMBAI: Drug firm Piramal Life Sciences on Tuesday reported a net loss of Rs 28.12 crore for the June quarter ended current fiscal as compared to Rs 21.27 crore in the same period last year.

Net sales rose to Rs 1.73 crore for quarter ended June 30, 2009 against Rs one lakh in the same period ended June 2008, Piramal Life Sciences said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Last year, drug firm Piramal Healthcare had changed the name of its research and development centre to Piramal Life Sciences from NPIL Research and Development.

Shares of Piramal Life Sciences hit upper limit at Rs 60.10 on the BSE, up 9.97 per cent from previous close. – PTI
