Allianz Cornhill opens 3rd unit in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The third facility of Allianz Cornhill Information Services (ACIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz Insurance, UK, was launched at the Technopark here on Tuesday.

The British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr Mike Nithavrianakis, inaugurated the facility.

ACIS is an excellent example of Indo-British initiative in Kerala and the State is an attractive investment destination for global IT companies, Mr Nithavrianakis said.

Mr Andrew Torrance, CEO, Allianz Insurance, said the new facility spread over on 40,000 sq feet will have a total capacity of 600 seats.

The first phase will have 250 seats and will be primarily used for global Application Development and Maintenance projects for Allianz.

ACIS would also be the main backup off-shore centre for its operations for five mission projects planned by Allianz, he said.

Mr Torrance said the staff strength of ACIS would be increased to 1400 in the near future.

ACIS currently has three facilities at Technopark, employing 700 professionals. — PTI
