TTDC to renovate all hotels

CHENNAI: With a view to attract more tourists to the state, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) plans to renovate all its hotels and resorts to make it on par with star hotels.

Official sources told PTI on Wednesday that all the 25 TTDC- owned hotels in the State would be renovated at a cost of Rs 6 crore. Each hotel would have multi-cuisine facilities with latest equipment. Renovation for Mamallapuram resort alone would cost about Rs 2 crore, officials said, and added that all the works would be completed by end of this month.

Apart from this, TTDC in association with State Transport Corporation would be launching a new scheme 'Hop on Hop off' to help the tourists visit various tourist centres in Chennai. Under this scheme, the tourist can board the bus at any location and get off at any stop in the city, the sources added. - PTI
