Govt/States AP govt hospitals to get 100 dialysis units HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on Saturday approved a proposal for purchase of one hundred dialysis units for seven government hospitals in the state at a cost of Rs 10 crore. The dialysis units would benefit poor patients availing treatment under the Arogya Sri Health Insurance Scheme, he said, adding the units would be made available in NIMS, Gandhi, Osmania, KGH, GGH (Kurnool), GGH (Kakinada), SVRR (Tirupati) hospitals. Mr Reddy was speaking while presiding over a Aarogyasri Health Care Trust meeting here. AP Beverages Corporation Managing Director Mr R Karikal Vallevan handed over a donation cheque of Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund on behalf of the corp oration. Principal secretaries Mr P K Agarwal (health), I Y R Krishna Rao (Finance), M Samuel (Revenue), G Sudhir (Revenue) and other senior officials attended the meeting. The Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for construction of an additional 250-bed complex in the Niloufer Hospital and also a new government medical college at Nizamabad, sources said. The newly-constructed government maternity hospital at Petlaburj in the city will be opened in the second week of next month. - PTI
