Govt/States J&K to sanction subsidies to 32 industrial units JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) government said on Friday that it would sanction Rs 207 lakh subsidy to 32 industrial units in Jammu division under the central package of incentives and subsidies. State Level Committee (SLC), constituted by the government to sanction various incentives and subsidies under the central package, has accorded the payment of Rs 207 lakh in favour of 32 industrial units in Jammu division. The committee sanctioned these payments under different incentives at a meeting convened under the chairmanship of Mr Pawan Kotwal, the Industries and Commerce Department secretary, an official spokesman said here today. He said the committee accorded sanction to the payment of an amount of Rs 117 lakh in favour of 20 units on account of interest subsidy, Rs 55 lakh for seven units on account of capital investment subsidy and Rs 35 lakh to the five units under transport subsidy scheme. All these units are located in industrial estates all over Jammu division, he said, adding that it has been decided that the meeting of SLC should be convened regularly so that the incentives and subsidies were released to the industrial units without delay. In the meeting, it was told that 11 units were registered under medium and large scale sector and 304 units were under small scale industrial sector during the year 2007-08, creating employment for about 3,400 persons in Jammu division. - PTI
