Govt/States Mother's birth anniversary celebrated at Aurobindo Ashram PUDUCHERRY: Followers of Sri Aurobindo from various parts of the country on Saturday offered prayers at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram here on the occasion of the 131st birth anniversary of The Mother of the Ashram. The Mother (Mirra Alfassa) took over the reins of the Ashram after Sri Aurobindo, her spiritual mentor, went into seclusion in 1926. The followers also meditated near the samadhis of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. The Aurobindo Ashram is the main tourist attraction of Puducherry.
