Shyam Steel to open retail network in Kerala

KOCHI: Shyam Steel Industries Ltd is foraying into the southern market by opening a retail network in Kerala and is targeting Rs 100-crore turnover per year from the State.

In due course if there is good response from Kerala, the company would invest in the State, Mr Govind Beriwal, Director of Shyam Steel, told presspersons here.

Kerala is one of the most potential markets for its products and efforts have been on for some time to start retail operations here, he said.

The steel manufacturer, with a national network of 12 branches spread across the country, is confident of touching monthly sales of 2,000-3000 tonnes and Rs 100-crore turnover from Kerala, he said.

Shyam Steel currently owns manufacturing facilities in West Bengal and Orissa. Its products are used in major infrastructure projects and individual constructions throughout the country. — PTI
