CSE index loses 36 pts in weekly trade

KOLKATA: The Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) failed to hold on to its early week's gains amid high volatility and closed on Friday with a minor loss.

The CSE-40, which had gained 104 points in the previous week, closed this week with a loss of 36.60 points.

The index opened firm at 10,688.49 and on Tuesday it touched an intra-week high of 10,966.56. From Wednesday, the market turned weak and lost ground to finish the week's trading at 10,651.89.

Blueprint Securities finish the week at Rs 303.75. Brahmanand Himghar Ltd at Rs 189, Minolta Finance at Rs 278.65, RGF Capital at Rs 345 and Risorgimento Industrial Co at Rs 285.25.

Besides, Shardaraj Tradefin also ended the week at Rs 53.85, Shree Nidhi Trading at Rs 158.90, while Shree Securities finished at Rs 198.20. Vindus Holding closed the week at Rs 293. Twenty-First Century finished the week at Rs 290.15. - PTI
