Delayed funding hits cotton projects in AP, Karnataka

AP signs MoU to curb seed varieties

US shrimp imports estimated lower
DURING the first six months of the current year, the US shrimp imports totalled 291 million pounds, down three per cent from the same period in 1999 and five per cent in the first half of 1998.

APEDA approves 4.29 lakh t sugar export
THE Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has issued registration-cum-allocation certificates (RCACs) for the export of 4.29 lakh tonnes of sugar. The release order for the same has also been issued by the Director ate of Sugar.

Tea
Mixed demand at Kochi tea sale
A MIXED trend persisted for almost all varieties of tea at the Kochi tea auction. Though a good general demand prevailed in the dust sales, it was comparatively low in the leaf varieties. Of the quantity of 10,17,000 kg on offer in the dust category, CTC s witnessed an irregular market. Some medium powdery CTCs were steady to occasionally dearer by Rs 1-2, while others remained barely steady, often tending to be easier. Low priced bolder CTCs witnessed good demand from exporters.
