Agriculture
Ground realities
Agriculture in India is currently facing serious multi-dimensional problems such as droughts and floods, massive crop shortfalls and burgeoning buffer stocks, food shortages, falling rural incomes and expanding demand.

Economy
Effects of globalisation
It was heartening to read the article, `Coke, Pepsi face coconut water revolution' (Business Line December 6). Agricultural products or substitutes of all kinds from across the globe are flooding the Indian market, creating untold miseries for the citize ns. Edible oil products, coconuts, and betelnut are instances.
