IBM ThinkPad woos `woman of 2001'
BANGALORE: First it was the Taj, which was projected as a woman, and now it is IBM's notebook computer, ThinkPad.
``The woman of 2001 is a `Thinking Woman'. She expresses her individuality through a style that is subtle and understated, while using restraint and elegance to make a distinguished statement,'' the company has said.
``This is exactly what the IBM ThinkPad also conveys,'' Mr Lingraju Swakar, Brand Manager, ThinkPad, said.
IBM has teamed up with fashion designer, Ms Deepika Govind, to sponsor a fashion show called Deepika Govind-2001.
Both the company and the designer claim to be targeting the `thinking woman'.
The ThinkPad is an attractive accessory for the working woman to carry, Ms Govind said. Priced at Rs 1.5 lakh, it is sleek and can be carried around easily.
IBM is quick to add that the ThinkPad is more than a fashion accessory. ``It is an integral part of the new woman's look and lifestyle.'' -- Our Bureau
