DishnetDSL plans further expansion

PUNE, Dec. 14
THE Internet Service Provider, DishnetDSL Ltd, is making an aggressive bid to grow in the market by tapping the domestic hospitality industry where it is providing high-speed Internet access solutions.
The ISP has already deployed the digital subscriber line solution in four hotels, including Mumbai's Sun-n-Sand and Regent and the Le Meridien, Delhi and Pune, Dr Vijay Bhatkar, Chairman, DishnetDSL, said. ``We would be deploying the solution in 15 other
hotel properties in the next two months, including The Leela groups hotels in Mumbai in Pune, Guestline in Mumbai, the Radisson in Chennai and the Ashoka in Bangalore'', he said.
DSL is a high-speed Internet connectivity technology designed for use on regular phone lines using which broadband quality video, video conferencing and high-speed data transmission can be delivered without interrupting normal telephone services at speed
s up to 8 Mbps. ``The technology eliminates hassles such as dial-up, busy signals and log-in delays and for our business traveller it gives a superior Internet experience,'' Mr Jaswinder Narang, General Manager, Le Meridien said.
The company currently uses a revenue-sharing model with participating hotels where it installs and maintains the system while the hotel gets a portion of the revenues.
The company is, meanwhile, also planning to tap the 3- star hotel categories for the same service, Mr Erich Buerkler, CEO of DishnetDSL Ltd, said pointing out that the company has exclusive arrangement with CAIS Software Solutions, one of the leaders in
software solutions for visitor-based Internet access networks, to offer IPORT solution in India.
The software, integrated with the hotels' property management system provisions, tracks and bills the users accessing the Internet.
