SCI to introduce new VRS scheme for shore-based staff
PRIVATISATION-BOUND Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) will introduce a new voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) for shore-based employees in the next few days in a bid to stay attractive prior to the planned strategic sale.

Tata Steel team ahead in race for Haldia berth
TATA Steel, in partnership with Martred Holding of Germany, is believed to be ahead of others in the race for acquiring the berth number 12 of Haldia dock on long-term lease for operation and maintenance. The other bidders include Steel Authority of Indi a Ltd , P&O Ports, APL and Ripley-Srei International combine.

Rejection of bid to operate container terminal -- Centre to review Kandla board decision
THE Union Government is considering over ruling a decision of the board of trustees of the Kandla Port Trust. It plans to invoke powers vested in it under Section 111 of the Major Port Trusts (MPT) Act, 1963, for this.

Chennai Port Trust to meet tomorrow on box terminal pact
THE Board of Trustees of Chennai Port is slated to meet on Wednesday (March 14) to clear the concession agreement to be signed with the private operator, P&O Ports, for the proposed container terminal at the port.
