MANGALORE: The organisations of fishermen in coastal Karnataka have threatened to resort to an indefinite strike if the Centre does not totally waive the Rs 2.64 excise duty on diesel and increase the quota of subsidised kerosene for fishermen. The curre nt subsidy in terms of central excise works out to a meagre 35 paise.
