TAMP rejects JNPT plea for hike in box handling charges
THE Tariff Authority for Major Ports (TAMP) has snubbed the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) by rejecting its plea for a 30 per cent hike in the container handling charges at the terminal owned and operated by the Port Trust.

SER exceeds revenue target
KOLKATA: South Eastern Railway (SER), by carrying 180.94 million tonnes, has exceeded the target of revenue earning freight fixed by the Railway Board during 2000-2001 by 5.44 m.t.

SCR registers 11 pc rise in freight loading
SOUTH Central Railway (SCR) has come out with record performance in freight movement and punctuality of trains during 2000-2001. It achieved the highest-ever freight loading of 56.84 m.t., marking a 11 per cent increase over 51.25 m.t. recorded for the p revious fiscal.
