Asia Pacific Enterprise summit in Bangalore

BANGALORE, July 1
A THREE-DAY meet of the Asia Pacific Enterprise Summit, which will focus on promoting investments, trade and technology transfers and joint venture is to be held in Bangalore from August 12 to 14. The Summit has been planned to leverage the diverse stren
gths in business and industry of the region to complement each other for lucrative economic cooperation.
In view of the increasingly role being played by the counties in the Asia Pacific region in the international business arena, the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and the Government of Karnataka have decided to promote th
is summit, said Mr R. V. Deshpande, Minister for Large and Medium Industry here.
Talking to reporters, Mr Deshpande said the region boasts of some of the wealthiest economies, most sophisticated financial markets, busiest maritime trade centers, largest poor of scientific manpower.And with a cross sectional character of the market of
the region with 3.5 billion people can be used to promote high-end and low-end products.
Mr K. Ramaswamy, President of FKCCI said that some countries in the Far East and some in the ASEAN region were yet to properly exploit their competitive advantage while the business potential of some Oceanic countries like Australia, New Zealand has not
been fully exploited. A lot of synergy among most countries in the region can be fruitfully harnessed for each other's needs.
