Commodities
Fluid situation in leather market
A FLUID situation prevails in the leather market with manufacturer-exporters of leather and leather products facing dilemma. Overseas buyers are also not prepared to place firm orders. Reports say the bank accounts of some Asian buyers, who have settled in UK, have been frozen. Hence, they have asked Indian exporters of leather and leather products, particularly garments, to stop shipments. The war-like situation has made the exporting community to think twice before signing any contract.
