Amara Raja H1 net up

CHENNAI: Amara Raja Batteries has reported a net profit of Rs 9.3 crore for the first half of the current financial year, as compared to Rs 8.3 crore in the same period last year -- a 12.45 per cent increase.

Sales increased to Rs 59.77 crore (Rs 50.98 crore), up 17.24 per cent.

In the quarter ended September 30, 2001, the net profit was marginally higher at Rs 6.1 crore, against Rs 6.02 crore in the same period last year, although the turnover increased to Rs 36.46 crore from Rs 30.89 crore previously. -- Our Bureau
