VAT: TN's apathy
The recent conference on Value Added Tax (VAT), organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Southern Region, in Bangalore was a real eye-opener to the preparedness of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry in implement ing VAT, along with other States in the first stage from April 2002.
