Corporate BHEL bags Rs 375-cr order from Oman NEW DELHI: State-run BHEL on Wednesday said it has bagged a Rs 375-crore order for executing two gas turbine generating units for a project in Oman. BHEL has won an export order for two gas turbine generating units of 126 MW each from Oman. The scope of the order includes supply, erection and commissioning of two gas turbine generating units of 126 MW each for a power project being set up by Petroleum Development Oman at Amal. For the contract, the gas turbines and associated equipment would be manufactured and supplied by BHEL’s Hyderabad plant and the Control System would be manufactured and supplied by the company's Electronics Division, Bangalore. With the present order, BHEL's would have installed 15 gas turbine sets in Oman alone. The company had earlier secured and executed 14 major contracts in the past 14 years in Oman. These contracts include seven power projects on EPC basis Petroleum Dev elopment Oman; Ministry of Housing, Electricity & Water, Oman; and Oman Cement Company. - PTI
