Instrumentation Ltd manufactures largest control valve

PALAKKAD: The public sector Instrumentation Limited at Kanjikode near here has claimed to have manufactured the largest butterfly control valve in the country.

The valve has a diameter of 2.8 metre, which is the 'largest control valve ever built in India'. The valve was manufactured for the Vizag steel plant at a cost of Rs 18 lakh, Company General Manager Mr N K Srivastava said.

The entire work on the valve including design, assembling and manufacturing was done at the company's Kanjikode unit, Mr Srivastava said. He said the company, the major manufacturer of control valves in the country, registered a turnover of Rs 92 crore l ast year. Its turnover target for the current fiscal was above Rs 100 crore, he said. - PTI
