Wheat futures extend gains

NEW DELHI: Supported by lifting of ban on exports, wheat futures continued its winning streak on Tuesday for the third straight day in early trade on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) and gathered another 0.39 per cent.

Better demand from flour mills in the spot markets also influenced the wheat prices. At 10.55 a.m., the delivery in July contract was trading at 0.39 per cent higher at Rs 1,089.30 a quintal, with an open interest of 108 lots.

Market analysts said after lifting of ban on wheat exports by the Government, traders continued to indulge in creating positions, pushing commodity prices at futures market. - PTI
