Cardamom futures move up

NEW DELHI: Cardamom futures, which had lost moderate ground in Monday's trading, recovered by 1.65 per cent on the back of pick up in domestic and export demand.

The most-active November contract for cardamom rose by 1.65 per cent to Rs 676 a kg with trading volume of 28 lots on the Multi-Commodity Exchange.

Similarly, October delivery contract gained 0.71 per cent at Rs 675.50 a kg in trading volume of 37 lots. Marketmen said pick up in export as well as domestic demand in view of festive season, fresh buying by speculators on expectations of pick up in dem and in the spot markets in view of festive season, mainly pushed up cardamom prices at futures market here. - PTI
