Dal prices rule mixed

CHENNAI: Prices of Gram dal went up while urad dal, moong dal and sugar moved down, rest all other commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrains market here on Tuesday.

Gram dal rose by Rs.100 per quintal to Rs.2,900 against yesterday's rates of Rs.2,800. Moong dal moved down by Rs.150 per quintal to Rs.3,650 from Rs.3,800, Urad dal slipped by Rs.100 per quintal to Rs.3,850 of yesterday's rates of Rs.3,950 and sugar edg ed down by Rs.15 to per quintal Rs.1,525 of yesterday's rates of Rs.1,540.

Thoor dal, wheat, maida and sooji remained unchanged from their previous rates. Following are today's rates (per quintal): Thoor dal Rs 4,350, Urad dal Rs 3,850, Moong dal Rs 3,650, Gram dal Rs 2,900, Sugar Rs 1,525, Wheat Rs 1,450, Maida (90 kgs) Rs 1,4 00 and Sooji (90 kgs) Rs 1,500. - PTI
