Commodities Crude oil futures up on firm global cues NEW DELHI: Crude oil futures prices on Friday maintained an upward trend for the third straight day by rising 1.41 per cent on increased buying by traders in tandem with a firming global trend. At the MCX, crude oil for current October contract shot up by 1.41 per cent to Rs 3,604 per barrel with business turnover in 79 lots. It had gained 0.72 per cent on Thursday’s trading. Similarly, crude oil for delivery in November contract moved up by 1.34 per cent to Rs 3,603 per barrel with business turnover in 1,463 lots. Analysts said increased buying by traders influenced by a firming global trend mainly pushed up crude oil prices. Meanwhile, crude oil for November delivery climbed 59 cents to $78.17 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. — PTI
