AI defers decision to withdraw agency commission

MUMBAI: Bowing to the pressure from travel agents, Air India (AI) has deferred by one month its decision to withdraw the five per cent agency commission from October 1.

“We have deferred the decision to November 1,” an Air India spokesperson said here today.

On June 20, the airline had informed various travel agent bodies that it was withdrawing the five per cent commission to agents from October 1.

The two major full-service carriers, Kingfisher Airlines and Jet Airways, had issued similar circulars to travel agent bodies withdrawing the five per cent agency commission from October 1. - PTI
