Asian majors turn weak

MUMBAI: Asian majors plunged in early trades on Wednesday. Tokyo's Nikkei lost 234.62 points at 15,970.81 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index too was down 79.34 points at 15,970.81.

Elsewhere, Singapore Straits Times has shed 4.21 points at 2,477.75, Taipei index, however, gained 49.21 points at 6,610.84, Kuala Lumpur Composite slipped 5.10 points at 923.84, Seoul Kospi was down 3.29 points at 1,371.59, Bangkok SET index edged lower by 2.16 points at 741.89, Jakarta JSX Composite was down 5.98 points at 1,224.67 and in Manila, the PSE was up 10.34 points at 2,133.30.
