US markets slide

MUMBAI: The US stock markets slid on Monday. Marketmen said the reason for the slide in the stocks was due to fears that the bailout announced for struggling banks may not help much.

The Dow Jones industrial average slid 372.75 points to close at 11,015.69. The Standard and Poor's 500 index finished lower by 47.99 points to end at 1,207.09. The NASDAQ fell 94.92 points at 2,178.98.
