Assam Co starts oil, gas production at Amguri block

MUMBAI: Oil and gas producer Assam Co Ltd said on Tuesday that it has started oil and gas production at its Amguri block in northeast India from January 29.

The company is currently producing 585 barrels a day of oil and 4.7 metric million cubic feet of natural gas from Amguri 10B and Amguri 11 wells.

However, after removal of constraints and construction of a new gas pipeline in the current quarter, production will increase, it said in a statement.

Ahead of the news, shares in the company were up 5 per cent, their maximum daily limit, to Rs 36.85, in a firm Mumbai market.
